About the Company
Wave is on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent. In many parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, over half the population lacks access to traditional banking due to high fees, distance to branches, and lack of card acceptance. To address this, Wave has developed a financial services platform that eliminates account fees, provides instant availability, and is accepted everywhere—even in places lacking reliable electricity, water, or roads. Since launching a mobile app in Senegal in 2017 for cash deposits, withdrawals, and peer-to-peer as well as business payments, Wave has expanded rapidly, now serving millions across nine countries.
