Quantity Surveyor

Overview

LaborHack is looking for a meticulous and proactive Quantity Surveyor to oversee all financial elements of construction projects. The role involves cost planning, budgeting, contract oversight, and financial management to guarantee project completion within budget while adhering to quality and regulatory standards.

Key Duties

• Prepare precise cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documents
• Track and manage project expenditures to keep within approved budgets
• Assess and compare contractor and supplier quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Generate and approve interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Carry out site measurements and appraisals for completed work
• Assist procurement and contract administration activities
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors on financial considerations
• Compile periodic cost reports, cash flow analyses, and financial projections
• Identify potential cost risks and suggest strategies to optimize expenses
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions, financial policies, and applicable regulations

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a BSc or HND with Upper Credit in Quantity Surveying or related fields
• At least 2 years of post-NYSC experience in construction and interior finishing materials
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software like CostX or Buildsoft
• Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of working both independently and within team environments

• Prior exposure to cost management software is a plus
