Role Overview
As a Quality Engineer within the Systematics team, your main responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of a dependable, secure, and high-quality core banking platform. You will work on supporting customer-facing applications like Internet Banking and goMoney, focusing on the reliability and integrity of these systems by employing rigorous testing methodologies and quality engineering principles.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Auckland or Wellington, with 37.5 working hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and engineers to convert business needs into effective testing scenarios and measurable quality results.
- Implement testing best practices and standards across functional and non-functional testing domains.
- Enhance test coverage and advance automated testing efforts as suitable.
- Support the stability and reliability of core banking platforms through comprehensive regression, release, and change management testing.
- Monitor and communicate potential quality risks ensuring safe delivery of banking services.
- Contribute to improvements in testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Promote a cooperative team atmosphere and share expertise to reinforce a culture centered on quality.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in software testing within enterprise or complex technology environments is essential.
- Solid knowledge and application of both functional and non-functional testing techniques.
- Practical experience with both manual and automated testing processes.
- Familiarity with test automation tools and CI/CD pipelines such as Cypress, Jenkins, or Bitbucket.
- Competency in at least one programming or scripting language like Java, JavaScript, or Groovy.
- Exposure to API testing technologies such as Postman or REST Assured.
- Experience working in Agile frameworks, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify and assess risks related to quality.
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude towards owning quality outcomes and facilitating continuous enhancements in testing processes.
