Role Overview
This permanent, full-time position is based onsite at Mitre 10 MEGA Albany and reports directly to the Chief Merchandise Officer. As part of the central purchasing team, your focus will be ensuring stock orders are accurate, timely, and adequately meet customer demand. The role is set within a high-volume and process-oriented environment where precision, organization, and diligence are critical. Your efforts directly impact stock availability, sales performance, and cost management across the business.
Core Responsibilities
- Utilize system automation tools to execute supplier orders.
- Review and approve customer and replenishment purchase requests.
- Optimize order quantities to improve freight efficiency and minimize costs.
- Address zero stock-on-hand issues and adjust replenishment parameters accordingly.
- Ensure core product range adherence and maintain precise item data.
- Manage stock balancing and facilitate branch transfers to reduce unnecessary buying.
- Leverage opportunities to enhance sales through management of seasonal, indent, and excess inventory.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to promptly resolve order or stock-related challenges.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in purchasing, inventory management, or related roles.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Strong meticulousness and accuracy in data entry.
- Comfort and confidence working with numerical data and systems, with mandatory proficiency in Excel.
- Capacity to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- A practical approach focused on problem-solving and ownership of tasks.
- Familiarity with SAP and experience using data warehouse or reporting tools is advantageous but not required.
