As a proofreader, you will ensure that our content is grammatically accurate, engaging, and effectively structured to support students from all proficiency levels towards college readiness. This position is remote within the United States and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in education.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review various lesson content including printed materials, slide presentations, online lessons, and practice tests to ensure correct grammar, clarity, and compliance with established style guides.
• Report identified errors or inconsistencies promptly through designated ticketing systems or according to provided instructions.
• Maintain uniformity and quality in style and tone across all content produced.
• Engage in regular communication with the MasteryPrep team concerning deadlines, feedback, and progress transparency.

Skills and Expertise Required

• Minimum of two years experience in proofreading or editing.
• Strong command of English grammar and excellent communication abilities.
• Comfort in reviewing content across diverse subjects including English Language Arts, STEM, and Social Sciences.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and rigorously apply detailed style guidelines.
• Ability to meet deadlines and consistently deliver high-quality work within approximately 24 hours.
• Proficiency with: stable internet connection, Slack messaging platform (provided), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat DC. Experience with screen capture or screen recording software is a plus but not mandatory.
• Preference given to candidates with backgrounds in test preparation, high standardized test scores, or educational experience.

Terms & Benefits

• This is a part-time, temporary contract role classified under 1099.
• Compensation is set at $25 per hour.
