About the Company

Position Overview
The Project Manager will oversee coordination of project timelines, material deliveries, and serve as the main liaison among customers, vendors, and freight carriers. Ensuring projects proceed smoothly and timely, this role demands clear communication and logistical expertise.
Key Duties
- Act as the central contact for customers, establishing and managing delivery timetables.
- Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and clients to synchronize schedules with project plans.
- Interpret contract drawings, orders, production schedules, and reports to define delivery needs.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with customers, freight brokers, and suppliers.
- Promptly address shipment complications or delays by communicating with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain frequent daily communication with customers, freight carriers, and vendor shipping teams.
- Keep meticulous records of all customer interactions and update internal tracking systems.
- Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) and conduct follow-ups.
- Coordinate with accounting and sales on payment follow-ups related to deliveries.
- Analyze project estimates against actual figures, prepare change orders, and monitor invoice statuses.
- Supply customers with necessary material certificates and product data upon request.
- Input data into company software to track ongoing projects.
- Assist in scheduling shipments and collaborate closely with sales on logistics matters.
- Work jointly with the Detailing Department on shop drawings, RFIs, and customer documentation.
- Support senior project managers in assigned activities.
- Contribute ongoing recommendations to optimize processes and enhance departmental performance.
- Perform routine clerical tasks such as managing forms, spreadsheets, and documentation.
Qualifications
- Preferably 2 to 5 years of experience managing construction projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and technical guidelines.
- Familiarity with structural steel, miscellaneous steel, joists, decking standards, and related regulations.
- Knowledge of Steel Joist Institute guidelines and governmental standards is advantageous.
- Experience with QuickBooks is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with clients.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Capable of independent decision-making and resolving issues competently.
