About the Organization
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a globally recognized center for biomedical and hospital-related research in Montreal, Quebec. It serves as the research division of the McGill University Health Centre and is affiliated with McGill University's Faculty of Medicine. The institute receives partial funding from Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Overview
This role is within the Clinical Practice Assessment Unit supporting the Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network (CADeN), a national organization aimed at improving medication safety and appropriateness to reduce harm across Canada. The Project Manager will lead initiatives to promote medication safety for the public, advance CADeN's decolonization and Indigenization efforts, and support health care professional education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee diverse projects focused on medication appropriateness and deprescribing, including public engagement campaigns and educational efforts.
- Contribute to strategic management activities within the organization.
- Collaborate with team members and external stakeholders by assisting with communication efforts, preparing reports, and organizing meetings.
- Support research tasks such as conducting literature reviews, help with grant applications, drafting scientific reports, and preparing ethical approval documents and contracts.
- Manage administrative duties related to projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in sciences or social sciences.
- One to two years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken French at an advanced level.
- Advanced command of English, capable of managing detailed communication with patients, researchers, and international colleagues.
- Experience building respectful, trust-based relationships with Indigenous communities.
- Strong communication skills across multiple formats including written documents and multimedia presentations (PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.).
- Competency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel (graph creation), and PowerPoint.
- Experience using online and social media platforms effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse groups including public, healthcare professionals, researchers, and community organizations.
- Sensitivity and experience in working with diverse populations are an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.

Additional Information
- Employment type: Temporary full-time contract.
- Workweek: 35 hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Work location: 2155 Guy Street, Montreal, with options for hybrid work (on-site and remote).
- Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
