About the Role and Company
Join Amcor in Sligo, Ireland as a Production Planner within the Supply Chain department. This role involves working on-site to coordinate day-to-day production planning that balances customer needs with manufacturing capacity while supporting the company's safety and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strictly follow all site safety protocols and report any hazards immediately to maintain a safe workplace.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure production schedules meet company objectives.
- Create and manage detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules that align with customer delivery requirements.
- Analyze demand forecasts against manufacturing capacity, adjusting plans proactively for material availability, labour, or equipment issues and suggest efficiency improvements.
- Produce regular reports comparing plans to actual production, including delivery performance analysis, to enhance operational output.
- Respond to any unexpected disruptions by adapting schedules using scenario planning to reduce productivity losses.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehousing, and logistics to enable Just-In-Time raw material flow and minimize excess inventory.
- Support new product launches by collaborating with engineering and project teams to integrate them smoothly into production.
- Maintain thorough documentation of planning activities, schedule changes, and technical challenges encountered.
- Assist with localized inventory control and monitor supply levels as needed.
- Work with operations and production management to ensure adherence to finalized schedules.
- Serve as the primary contact for all production planning and scheduling inquiries across the site.
- Complete additional operational or project-related assignments as directed by the Supply Chain Manager or leadership.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a comparable field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with solid production planning expertise.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling principles and operational workflow.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure clarity with diverse teams.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and MS Project), Power BI, and Enterprise Resource Planning tools such as SAP.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address operational bottlenecks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet tight deadlines with strong organizational skills.
- Experience working in global, culturally diverse teams with sensitivity and effective interpersonal communication.
- Self-motivated, proactive, positive attitude with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and collaborate.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes.
