Principal, Strategic Operations

Role Overview

This role is for a Principal in Strategic Operations located in Portugal, with a fully remote work option. The position allows you to influence and enhance the operational foundation of a rapidly expanding company by refining team planning, prioritization, and execution methods. You will work closely with executive leadership to establish scalable systems that convert strategic visions into concrete, trackable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously refine leadership operating systems, such as planning cycles, decision-making frameworks, and execution rhythms.
• Lead quarterly and yearly strategic planning activities ensuring alignment of priorities, dependencies, and resource allocation.
• Manage implementation of critical cross-functional projects by enhancing accountability, coordination, and follow-through.
• Create scalable and effective documentation, operational mechanisms, and planning tools for efficient team execution.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders to recognize organizational challenges and deploy solutions to improve decision-making quality and operational efficiency.
• Convert complex business problems into clear frameworks, actionable insights, and measurable results.
• Incorporate artificial intelligence tools into daily operations to enhance judgment, efficiency, and decision processes.

Required Qualifications

• More than seven years of relevant experience in Business Operations, Strategic Operations, Chief of Staff roles, or Management Consulting within high-growth contexts.
• Proven ability to design and scale operational systems, planning protocols, and execution frameworks in growing organizations.
• Experience working directly with founders and senior leadership on company-wide strategic initiatives.
• Excellent written communication skills with an aptitude for simplifying complex ideas into clear decisions and frameworks.
• Strong systemic thinking and problem-solving skills focused on identifying root causes and delivering scalable solutions.
• High level of executive presence, sound judgment, and the capability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Comfortable operating autonomously in fast-paced and ambiguous environments while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Demonstrable fluency with AI tools, including regular application, awareness of their capabilities and limitations, and ongoing improvement of their use.
• Familiarity with company planning methodologies like OKRs, annual planning, or quarterly business reviews is advantageous.
• Preferred experience with modern collaboration and productivity platforms such as Notion, Linear, Slack, analytics dashboards, and AI assistants.
