Principal Project Officer - Victim Support Reform Projects

Role Overview

The Principal Project Officer for Victim Support Reform Projects plays a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the implementation of key initiatives within the victim support reform portfolio, including the Victims Advocate Service. This position requires close collaboration with stakeholders across government and external agencies to ensure that reforms effectively address the needs of crime victims and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Exhibit cultural awareness and a dedication to fostering inclusivity consistent with the Human Rights Act 2019, supporting programs and partnerships that maintain cultural ties for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Offer expert guidance in designing, developing, executing, and evaluating various Victim Support Reform projects, with a focus on the Victims Advocate Service.
• Conduct thorough research and analytical activities to produce evidence-based recommendations, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of issues and potential remedies.
• Prepare diverse documentation such as briefing and options papers, policy and project proposals, Cabinet submissions, progress updates, and official correspondence.
• Forge and nurture constructive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration across projects and initiatives.
• Manage project components including creating and overseeing schedules, risk and issue management, governance, communication, and consultation plans, adhering strictly to established project management standards.
• Organize and sustain Victim Support Reform advisory and working groups to provide essential input for project development.
