About the Role
We are seeking a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager to contribute significantly to advancing Global X Australia's fixed income expertise during an exciting growth phase. Positioned within a dynamic team, you will directly manage the day-to-day operations of fixed income ETFs as well as select equity ETFs, under the guidance of the Head of Portfolio Management. Your specialized knowledge will influence portfolio strategies, investment frameworks, and assist with new product development to roll out innovative ETF strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete portfolio and trading activities for fixed income and designated equity ETFs, ensuring alignment with investment goals and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct trades related to index modifications, cash flow adjustments, corporate actions, currency hedging, and portfolio rebalancing.
- Continuously assess portfolio exposures, risk metrics, performance, and tracking errors, promptly addressing any arising issues.
- Collaborate with market makers and support capital markets functions.
- Promote best practices in portfolio management by identifying opportunities for automation, scalability, risk mitigation, and operational improvements.
- Contribute to the enhancement and administration of fixed income ETFs, including reporting, regulatory adherence, compliance, and cross-departmental coordination.
- Participate in expanding fixed income capabilities through product development, portfolio construction, and refining investment processes.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a degree-level qualification or equivalent, such as CFA certification.
- Bring at least 10 years of experience in fixed income portfolio management, trading, or ETF oversight, with direct responsibility for portfolios or mandates.
- Have a firm grasp of fixed income market instruments and trading conventions.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, make sound decisions, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Exhibit strong risk management skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with fixed income trading platforms like Bloomberg, MarketAxess, TradeWeb, and familiarity with Aladdin software are advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with aptitude for stakeholder engagement.
