Role Overview
This full-time on-site position is based in Accra and involves conducting thorough inspections to detect pest presence and vulnerabilities on client properties. The technician will implement treatment protocols consistent with IPM guidelines and company standards. Daily duties include applying authorized pesticides, installing and checking traps or baits, and meticulously recording service details. The role demands effective communication to relay findings and pest control advice to clients while ensuring adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations. Additional responsibilities include participating in routine maintenance schedules, assisting with urgent pest issues, and upkeeping equipment and transport vehicles.
Candidate Qualifications
- Proficient in practical pest control and IPM techniques, capable of accurately identifying pests and administering suitable treatments.
- Knowledgeable about PEST and other environmental/site assessment methodologies related to pest risk evaluation.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction, explaining inspection outcomes and preventive measures.
- Basic expertise in lawn care practices that aid in pest habitat management.
- Relevant prior experience in pest management, environmental health, or facilities oversight is beneficial.
- Compliance with safety standards including proper use of personal protective gear and adherence to regulatory protocols.
- Physically fit to perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, and using pest control tools safely in diverse settings.
- Educational background of secondary school completion or vocational training; certifications in pest control or public/environmental health are advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and skilled at problem-solving with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively.
