Role Overview
As a foundational member of the Payment Operations team, you will play a crucial role in scaling and refining payment processes that include ACH, wires, international payments, Real Time Payments (RTP), FedNow, and checks. You will combine technical skills with operational expertise to ensure smooth and accurate transaction handling while collaborating cross-functionally and implementing scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy solutions to automate and optimize operational workflows using tools such as Retool, SQL, Python, and JavaScript.
- Manage and enhance end-to-end payment operations across multiple payment rails including ACH, wire transfers, RTP, FedNow, and checks.
- Handle and resolve inquiries from customers and partner banks efficiently by triaging and investigating payments-related issues.
- Maintain and analyze performance metrics and dashboards to monitor operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Business, and Customer teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely resolution of operational matters.
- Create and update documentation such as process guidelines, playbooks, and internal knowledge bases to support onboarding and team scaling.
- Participate actively in risk evaluation and process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing operational risks and enhancing tooling.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Basic proficiency in technical skills including SQL, JavaScript, and Python, along with enthusiasm for rapid learning.
- Knowledge of payment processing standards, specifically NACHA operating rules and wire transfer protocols.
- Excellent communication abilities suitable for engaging diverse audiences ranging from technical to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- A customer-oriented mindset paired with a proactive approach to solving problems and improving workflows.
- Self-driven, comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, and ready to contribute to building processes from the ground up.
