About the Role
The Operator - Supply is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the terminal or depot by regularly inspecting operational facilities such as loading racks, pump houses, and tank farms. This role includes supervising vehicle loading and offloading activities, supporting supervisors during product receipt, storage, and quality and quantity assurance tasks in accordance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of instruments, gauges, and meters to identify potential hazards, defects, or equipment malfunctions, promptly reporting findings to supervisors for corrective action.
- Ensure proper preparation of tanks, pipelines, and related equipment for loading and receiving operations, and operate valves and equipment as directed by the Supply Supervisor.
- Oversee loading operations to strictly follow procedures, ensuring road tankers are sealed properly and loading arms are managed correctly; report any product spillage or tanker defects to supervisors.
- Carry out offloading operations while adhering to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) protocols.
- Perform product draining, sampling, and physical dip tests from storage tanks and vehicles as instructed, maintaining cleanliness and proper housekeeping of sampling equipment.
- Maintain required checklists and data sheets, forwarding them to supervisors for review and action.
- Assist supervisors with refractometer and Millipore tests and regularly measure temperature and density for JET-A1 aircraft fuel at designated depots to support quality assurance efforts.
- Conduct visual tests to assess product quality, such as checking for bottom sediment, water, and foreign materials in oil samples, and communicate results to supervisors.
- Support supervisors in reconciliation processes and record readings from RFT and Batch Controllers as needed.
- Manage Jet Fuel road tanker loading, bulk loading, and drum filling, ensuring drums are sealed and labeled with batch details before storage or delivery.
- Monitor additive injection systems and replace additives like FSII and CI drums when depleted at specified depots.
- Coordinate with third-party contractors or vendors to ensure dye injection systems are functioning correctly at multiple depot locations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Responsibilities
- Adhere to all relevant HSE policies, procedures, legal requirements, and sustainability guidelines aligned with international standards and company practices.
- Execute tasks safely in accordance with HSE protocols and ensure full compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety rules.
- Immediately report all incidents and near misses to supervisors.
- Follow company emergency procedures and actively participate in emergency drills.
- Engage in safety meetings, talks, campaigns, training, and awareness initiatives to meet safety objectives.
Firefighting Duties
- Conduct regular and unannounced inspections of critical operational areas and facilities to verify that firefighting equipment is functional and to mitigate unsafe conditions.
- Inspect, clean, and test firefighting tools and equipment, including hoses, hydrants, ladders, and extinguishers to ensure readiness.
- Respond promptly to fire or accident alarms by assessing fire locations, connecting hoses to hydrants, and applying appropriate firefighting methods.
- Participate in emergency response actions ensuring rapid and effective reaction to emergencies.
- Monitor firefighting control room screens and alarm systems, communicating emergencies following company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary school certificate, high school diploma, or vocational trade diploma.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages.
- Physically fit to meet job demands.
