About the Role
Visy Global Forwarding invites applications for a proactive Customer Service Specialist position based in Auckland. This pivotal role involves acting as a central point of contact between clients and the logistics process, ensuring smooth and efficient international freight operations. Responsibilities include managing shipment documentation, coordinating with logistics partners, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prepare international shipping documents such as bills of lading and customs declarations.
- Track and schedule shipments to guarantee prompt dispatch and delivery.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers to resolve issues and provide timely updates.
- Address challenges during the import/export cycle, including customs delays and discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
- Assist in onboarding new customers and prepare precise quotations.
- Promote continuous operational improvements and adhere to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in freight forwarding customer service or related support functions.
- Strong understanding of import and export processes.
- Familiarity with customs clearance procedures and Customs PIN accreditation is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficient in CargoWise software and knowledge of both international and domestic transport logistics.
- Capability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound knowledge of customs compliance documents and reporting tools such as CMR and 1 Stop.
- Excellent communication, meticulous attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
