About the Role

This permanent full-time role is based at the Forrestfield site in Western Australia with a schedule of 12-hour day shifts on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation.

As an Oat Miller within the Quaker Oats team, you will be responsible for planning, operating, and supervising the Grain Handling and Oat Cleaning Plant as well as the Oat Mill. Your goal will be to meet production objectives while upholding safety standards, product quality, operational efficiency, and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor milling processes to consistently achieve production and quality targets.
  • Adjust machinery settings and process parameters to maximize efficiency, throughput, and overall performance.
  • Coordinate milling operations to ensure uninterrupted production and fulfillment of operational requirements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and site protocols.
  • Perform routine inspections, conduct quality control checks, troubleshoot issues and escalate as necessary.
  • Support equipment reliability through routine assessments, autonomous maintenance tasks, and liaising with maintenance teams.
  • Participate in team efforts, maintain operational flexibility, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior experience operating milling, grain handling, or related manufacturing equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in monitoring, controlling, and troubleshooting automated production lines within manufacturing settings.
  • Proven commitment to safe workplace practices.
  • Experience with manual handling tasks.
  • Strong communication abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with GMP standards and quality work protocols.
  • Possession or willingness to acquire forklift operator, boiler attendant, and first aid certifications.
