About SterniPark

SterniPark is a recognized independent provider of child and youth welfare services and a member of the DPWV. Operating 21 child daycare centers and two forest kindergartens in Hamburg, the organization cares for around 2,500 children aged from 0 to 6 years in nursery and elementary groups. Since 2000, SterniPark has been caring for youths under §34 SGB VIII in its facilities across Schleswig-Holstein and supporting (expectant) mothers and fathers in mother/father-child housing per §19 SGB VIII. Since 2015, it also provides care for unaccompanied minor refugees in Schleswig-Holstein's SterniPark institutions. Additionally, SterniPark manages other facilities including the mother/father-child home in Satrup/SH and locations in Hamburg and Halle/Saale, and runs the Findelbaby project with three baby hatches founded in 1999. The organization also offers counseling services for pregnancy conflicts.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for residents' spontaneous needs during the night
• Support children and youths in their concerns and accompany them towards independence
• Maintain telephone availability to ensure the institution can be reached at all times
• Record crisis discussions and notable incidents during night shifts and ensure proper handover to subsequent staff
• Provide residents with a sense of security and openness

Candidate Profile

• Possess a qualification in medical, nursing, pedagogical fields, or an equivalent certification
• Reliable and respectful partner for residents and team
• Eager to develop professionally within a multidisciplinary team and contribute personal skills and talents
• Active during night hours and flexible in shift scheduling
• Previous experience in youth welfare or mother/father-child facilities preferred, but beginners are welcome
