Job Overview

Join the Parks and Gardens team as a Multipurpose Officer to help maintain the appearance and quality of parks, gardens, streetscapes, and road reserves across the Colac Otway Shire. This role involves performing various horticultural duties to keep public spaces enjoyable for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Uphold high standards of appearance, presentation, and amenity for parks, gardens, and streetscapes.
• Participate actively as a valued team member carrying out assigned tasks in the Botanic Gardens and other locations within the region.
• Ensure work is completed with a focus on safety, quality, and budget compliance adhering to corporate values.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience operating large horticultural machinery and equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding manual labour tasks efficiently.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of horticultural operations and practices.
• Solid understanding and experience in occupational health and safety principles.
• Possession of an OH&S Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Current valid driver's licence is mandatory.
• Heavy truck licence and/or Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence are advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
• Enthusiasm for ongoing training and personal development.
