Role Overview
The Marine Mammal Specialist 4 position is an excellent entry point for those beginning their career in marine mammal care. The role involves maintaining clean marine habitats, preparing specialized diets, observing and documenting animal behavior, and supporting engaging guest interaction programs. Additional responsibilities comprise meticulous record-keeping and assisting in the administration of medications under supervision.
Candidate Profile
Applicants must have completed a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Prior experience is not mandatory, though internships or prior exposure to marine mammal care will be considered advantageous. Candidates should be physically fit to pass annual fitness assessments, possess adaptability to fluctuating work schedules, and be comfortable working outdoors across diverse weather conditions. Strong communication abilities, a dedication to animal welfare, and teamwork skills are essential.
