Manual Tester

Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Manual Tester to become a vital part of our Quality Assurance team. This position involves comprehensive testing of software applications to detect bugs, validate functionalities, and confirm the delivery of superior user experiences prior to product launch. Collaboration with developers, business analysts, and product teams throughout the software development life cycle is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases and scenarios aligned with business and functional specifications.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Detect, document, and monitor defects using bug tracking software such as JIRA.
• Work closely with developers and analysts to clarify requirements and replicate issues effectively.
• Confirm bug fixes by retesting and verifying resolutions.
• Keep test documentation current, involving test plans, cases, and scripts.
• Engage in requirement analysis sessions, providing quality assurance insights during planning.
• Deliver reports on testing status, coverage, and quality metrics to relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate release preparedness by ensuring adequate test coverage within project timelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
• More than two years of hands-on experience in manual or functional software testing.
• Firm knowledge of software testing methodologies including black-box, functional, and regression testing.
• Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM.
• Excellent attention to detail complemented by strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification like ISTQB Foundation Level or an equivalent credential.
• Experience validating web, mobile, or enterprise software platforms.
• Basic SQL knowledge to support data verification tasks.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Awareness of test automation principles, even if not involved in hands-on implementation.
