Job description

About the Role

The Maintenance Engineer role at JSW MG Motor India Pvt Ltd involves managing and ensuring the smooth operation of General Assembly (GA) shop equipment. The candidate will be responsible for handling various sophisticated machinery including conveyors, EMS systems, friction drives, AGV, robotic sealing and glueing units, and other specialized testing and filling equipment.
Additionally, experience with equipment in the battery assembly shop such as electrical insulation testers, battery charge/discharge systems, and MES integration is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain various GA shop equipment including conveyors, EMS systems, robotic sealing/glueing, AC gas, brake oil and coolant filling machines, and testing equipment like wheel alignment and emission testing systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLC/HMI, Fanuc robots, and Atlas Copco/Cleco DC tools is required.
  • Create and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans to ensure reliable equipment functioning in GA shop.
  • Manage identification, procurement, and inventory of GA shop spare parts.
  • Train maintenance team members to develop necessary skills for effective maintenance operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment uptime, reduce costs, enhance quality, and promote Kaizen culture within maintenance operations.
  • Independently manage shift operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and meet departmental KPIs.
  • Authorize issuance and ordering of spare parts and approve maintenance plans and commercial bills.
  • Approve leaves for junior engineers and associates in the respective area.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of electrical and control system design as it applies to automated industrial machinery.
  • Efficiently debug control and electrical circuits without additional support.

Qualifications and Eligibility

  • B.Tech or B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required.

Additional Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience with automated controls including AB PLC, HMI systems, and robot programming relevant to industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Handling and troubleshooting industrial automation and electrical equipment efficiently.
