Role Overview

We are looking for a Machine Learning Analyst to join our expanding data analytics and machine learning team. The team focuses on creating ML systems that address open-ended investment questions and aid portfolio management decisions through the entire project lifecycle—from conceptualization, data analysis, hypothesis testing and model development, to deployment and maintenance. The scope includes statistical modeling, traditional machine learning, and contemporary AI and large language model methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with machine learning experts, portfolio managers, and researchers to convert broad investment challenges into well-defined analytics and machine learning problems.
• Develop, assess, and maintain machine learning and quantitative models, including simulation and optimization techniques for investment-related issues.
• Maintain existing models and tools in production environments.
• Assume increasing responsibility for specific features, components, and complete projects over time.
• Convey methodologies, assumptions, findings, and constraints of models clearly to researchers and trading staff firm-wide.
• Keep updated on the latest machine learning and AI advancements relevant to finance and investing.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a quantitative discipline.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience via internships, undergraduate research, theses, or significant independent technical projects in software development, data analysis, or machine learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with scientific libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn; experience with additional programming languages is advantageous.
• Proficiency in handling and analyzing datasets from diverse sources and formats.
• Basic understanding of machine learning and statistical modeling principles including model evaluation and study design.
• Proven capacity to scope and execute open-ended technical projects independently.
• Genuine interest in finance, intellectual curiosity, and comfort with tackling ambiguous problems.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Additional Details

This role works closely with personnel on the trading floor to support portfolio management, so a strong interest in economic and financial markets is essential, although prior direct experience is not mandatory.

The position is open to candidates who can begin shortly as well as students expecting to graduate between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027, with start dates coordinated according to availability and completion of degree.

Compensation

The expected base annual salary ranges from $110,000 to $145,000, with the exact figure determined by individual skills, qualifications, and experience.
