About the Role

Join the team behind the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter and contribute beyond basketball. As a Live Content Specialist, you will be the key voice representing the Trail Blazers across various social and digital channels. Your role involves creating compelling content that resonates with and expands our fanbase while embodying the distinct culture and values of Rip City. More than just content dissemination, you will engage with fans, elevate their voices, promote interactive engagement, and deliver real-time coverage that encapsulates the spirit and excitement of Rip City.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the official voice of the Trail Blazers on social media, consistently reflecting the team’s brand values, tone, and Rip City culture.
Engage with fans directly to nurture community connections, spotlighting notable fan contributions and celebrating positive experiences.
Create engaging captions and social media posts that encourage interaction such as comments, shares, and reactions.
Develop timely social content including photos, videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes material for Trail Blazers platforms.
Collaborate with internal departments like Retail, Community Programs, and Social Impact for coordinated social media content posting.
Lead strategies targeted at Gen Z and influencers on platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, and emerging social networks, including creating innovative content ideas.
Explore new methods to grow audiences and boost engagement by experimenting with creative approaches, products, and platforms.
Attend home games and selected team events, providing live coverage; also support remote coverage for road games.
Maintain and update the Trail Blazers website with the latest team news and information.
Assist with social media analytics and reporting for sponsored content, campaigns, and organizational events, monitoring the effectiveness of digital efforts.

Candidate Profile

Experience in social media, marketing, communications, or related fields.
Ability to accurately represent and consistently communicate the Trail Blazers’ distinctive voice and tone across digital platforms.
Strong skills in fan engagement and community building, including initiating dialogue, responding authentically, and forming real connections with fans.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of representing the brand positively to internal and external audiences.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress platforms.
Passion for and knowledge of digital media trends and social platforms.
Strong work ethic, flexibility, and eagerness to grow professionally.
Proven ability to manage real-time social media demands alongside long-term projects.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and some holidays depending on events.

Preferred Qualifications

Interest and knowledge in basketball.
Experience in social media analytics and performance measurement focused on engagement and community growth.
Graphic design skills.
Understanding of the Trail Blazers organization and the Portland market.
