Role Overview
This full-time, non-management position is based in West Bay, Doha, Qatar, within the Golf, Fitness, and Entertainment category. The role focuses on keeping the pool and recreation area safe, orderly, and welcoming for guests while supporting the high service standards associated with St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.
Key Duties
- Watch the swimming area closely and use proper rescue methods whenever a swimmer needs help.
- Monitor the pool and surrounding area for risky conditions, unsafe behavior, or guests struggling in the water.
- Enforce recreation-area rules and help maintain a safe environment for all guests.
- Recognize situations where a guest may not be able to safely take part in an activity and escalate concerns to a supervisor or manager.
- Support injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
- Help create a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere for visitors.
- Collect, fold, and arrange towels according to company procedure.
- Clean the pool deck by washing and mopping it as needed.
Safety, Service, and Workplace Standards
- Report accidents, injuries, hazards, and unsafe working conditions to management.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Follow company policies and procedures, protect confidential information, and safeguard company assets.
- Greet all guests in line with company service standards and respond to service needs promptly.
- Maintain a neat, professional uniform and appearance at all times.
- Assist guests with disabilities and show genuine appreciation when interacting with guests.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
- Work respectfully with coworkers and support a positive team environment.
- Meet quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects when needed.
- Move quickly enough to respond to work situations, including running, walking, or jogging.
- Remain standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, including an entire shift if required.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place items up to 50 pounds without help and over 75 pounds with assistance.
- Use fine motor skills to handle objects of different sizes and weights.
- Work safely on slopes, uneven or slippery surfaces, and climb ladders, stairs, or service ramps.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role does not require prior related work experience or supervisory experience. Required certifications include CPR, First Aid, Fitness Equipment, and any additional training or certification required by local or state agencies.
