Role Summary
The firm seeks a candidate possessing exceptional commercial insight and practical intelligence (Seichel) to join the expanding team. This role is designed for senior associates from corporate/property law, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance backgrounds interested in shifting from advisory or institutional roles into a principal capacity. Operating directly alongside senior leadership, the full-time position involves comprehensive legal and investment advisory duties across property acquisitions, developments, financings, and disposals in Auckland.
Key Responsibilities
- Structure, analyze, and finalize major acquisition and development deals.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and transaction terms with partners, lenders, and investors.
- Ensure adherence to property, corporate, and financial regulations.
- Conduct financial modeling and asset valuation for potential projects.
- Perform due diligence on assets and prepare investment proposals and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with company leadership, external legal counsel, financial institutions, and project teams to optimize deal structures and manage risk.
Qualifications and Experience
- Robust expertise in corporate, property, and contract law, including handling complex agreements.
- Experience in investment banking or corporate finance with emphasis on transaction structuring, financial modeling, valuation, and execution.
- Strong understanding of real estate investment and development sectors, including hotels, commercial, and residential properties, with familiarity in regulatory compliance.
- Advanced analytical and research abilities to integrate legal and financial data effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills for delivering clear reports, term sheets, and presentations to various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to juggle multiple deals simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Experience liaising with banks, private investors, and institutional parties is highly preferred.
