Job Overview
Join Cape Environmental Management Inc as a Laborer working at construction or industrial sites across the nation, supporting civil construction projects with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. Tasks include fence installation, site cleanup, truck flagging, operation of small power tools like chainsaws and augers, managing daily paperwork, and structure erection.
Key Duties
The role requires strict adherence to company and site safety protocols, participation in Job Safety Analysis and improvements, daily pre-task inspections, and ongoing site monitoring to reduce injury or damage risks. Effective communication, including radio and hand signals, is essential for coordinating material placement. Work will be performed with minimal supervision under foreman or superintendent guidance, assisting in lifting and securing materials and maintaining cleanliness.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
- Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with strong oral, written, and basic math skills
- First Aid/CPR certification obtainable upon hiring
- Preferred forklift training available after hire
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Good auditory and visual capabilities
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly, using core strength
- Must pass physical fitness assessment and drug/background screenings
Compensation & Travel
Hourly wage ranges from $20 to $25 depending on experience. The position involves extensive travel, up to 100% of job locations nationwide.
