Junior Web Developer

About the Role

Rapid Marketing is seeking an enthusiastic and imaginative Junior Web Developer to become part of our expanding team. This position is ideal for candidates in the early stages of their professional journey who have a strong interest in web development and are eager to enhance their technical abilities within a collaborative and supportive setting.

Collaboration and Team

You will collaborate with several internal groups including the Founder and Management Team, Client Services Team, Creative Brand Design Team, and our Digital, UX/UI and Development Team.

Primary Duties

• Contribute to the creation and upkeep of websites and web-based applications
• Assist in implementing responsive designs focused on user experience
• Coordinate closely with designers and project managers to deliver website enhancements and updates
• Ensure websites function properly across various browsers and devices
• Identify and resolve website bugs and technical problems
• Keep abreast of new web development technologies and industry best practices

Candidate Profile and Skills

• Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design principles
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks and libraries such as Bootstrap or jQuery
• Some experience or awareness of back-end technologies like PHP and content management systems such as WordPress
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals and web accessibility guidelines
• Demonstrates a keen eagerness to learn and grow technical competencies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
• Detail-oriented with good problem-solving capabilities
• A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is advantageous but not mandatory
• Personal coding projects, freelance work, or a portfolio showcasing skills are a plus
• Experience with platforms like Shopify and WordPress is beneficial
