You will join the Investments IT group within the Global Accounting team in Tampa and work closely with experienced engineers and business stakeholders. This is a strong opportunity for someone at the start of their career, including recent graduates, who wants to develop practical software engineering skills, learn the investment accounting domain, and contribute to meaningful technology initiatives.
The role includes mentoring, structured onboarding, and opportunities to grow toward full-stack development work while learning from team members and contributing ideas that improve delivery and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build knowledge of the Investments IT accounting domain, internal tools, and engineering practices while taking part in onboarding, documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Support the planning, building, testing, and upkeep of software solutions with guidance from senior engineers and product partners.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and spec-led development discussions by taking notes, asking questions, and helping clarify requirements.
- Help prepare user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases, documentation changes, and low-risk production support tasks that improve application quality and team delivery.
- Look for ways to use AI, automation, and modern engineering tools to streamline work, improve efficiency, and support business transformation.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- Prior exposure through an internship or academic project in software development or AI/ML.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them to deliver high-quality software, as shown through academic or project work.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language, such as .NET/C#, SQL, Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Basic understanding of software design principles and coding best practices.
- Familiarity with database concepts, structure, and development.
- Basic exposure to cloud-native technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Basic awareness of secure coding practices and automated testing.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Agile methods, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Azure DevOps, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Experience or exposure to AI/ML concepts and related technologies.
- Prompt engineering and LLM APIs such as Azure OpenAI.
- AI SDKs and frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, or Semantic Kernel.
- Responsive UI/UX development.
- Understanding of microservice and monolithic architectures.
- Containerization concepts.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
Location and Work Arrangement
This position is based in Tampa, Florida and follows a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
