About the Role
Vital Search Group is looking for a dedicated IT Support Specialist to offer daily technical assistance to clinical and administrative personnel. This position involves supporting internal users with account access, healthcare-related software, EMR/EHR platforms, email, VPN connectivity, and fundamental hardware/software troubleshooting within a HIPAA-compliant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming help desk inquiries including calls, tickets, and emails from staff.
- Provide first-line technical assistance on issues such as password resets, account lockouts, healthcare application access, VPN, email, and basic connectivity.
- Troubleshoot software and simple hardware problems following established procedures and internal knowledge resources.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents, troubleshooting processes, actions taken, and solutions within the ticket tracking system.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT support, application teams, or management when necessary.
- Offer courteous and user-friendly support across varying user technical expertise levels.
- Ensure patient and organizational data confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA and company regulations.
- Manage surges in ticket volume during system updates or special initiatives.
- Assist with user account configurations, access alterations, and application support as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education: high school diploma or GED.
- Current training or credential in HIPAA compliance is mandatory.
- At least one year of experience in IT help desk, service desk, or technical support roles preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, email services, user account management, passwords, VPNs, and common business applications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Customer-focused attitude with the ability to stay composed and professional under stress.
- Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in documenting support activities.
- Ability to manage confidential information discreetly and professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting users in healthcare or medically regulated environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and clinical software applications.
- Experience with ticketing platforms, remote support tools, and related documentation processes.
