IT Specialist

Role Overview

This part-time remote position for an IT Specialist at Rede Nacional de Educação Cidadã centers on the upkeep and support of the organization's IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include monitoring network performance, enforcing security protocols, and addressing technical incidents and service requests promptly.

Key Duties

• Identify and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems on a day-to-day basis.
• Offer technical assistance to users through online communication channels.
• Maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting processes and solutions.
• Work alongside internal teams to enhance systems and implement minor IT projects.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and recognized standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong knowledge of IT fundamentals, including familiarity with common operating systems, hardware, and cloud-based applications.
• Hands-on experience with network administration and basic setup of switches, routers, and wireless access points.
• Competence in diagnosing and fixing a variety of technical issues related to hardware and software as well as network connectivity.
• Understanding of network security concepts such as firewalls, VPNs, access management, and security best practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, especially in assisting non-technical users remotely and handling multiple simultaneous requests.
• Self-starter ability to manage time efficiently within a part-time workload and collaborate with remote teams.
• Additional certifications or relevant coursework (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are an advantage.
• Experience in education, nonprofit sectors, or citizen engagement activities is desirable, along with documentation and basic project coordination skills.
