IT Operations Engineer

Role overview

This position is based in Singapore and focuses on keeping day-to-day IT operations reliable across user support, servers, networking, and infrastructure maintenance. You will work closely with internal teams and outside vendors to ensure systems remain stable and business users receive timely technical assistance.

Desktop support

• Deliver hands-on IT help to employees, including software installation, hardware and application troubleshooting, workstation setup, peripheral configuration, and management of user accounts and access rights.

Server and infrastructure operations

• Administer both Windows and Linux servers in physical and virtual environments, covering deployments, routine checks, patching, backups, and incident handling.
• Maintain daily operations for virtualized environments and support troubleshooting across mainstream virtualization platforms.

Networking

• Investigate network problems and carry out basic setup of routing and switching equipment.
• Apply networking knowledge at roughly NP level, including VLANs, routing, switching, and basic firewall tasks.

IT asset and process management

• Track IT equipment, keep operational records and incident logs, and help enforce standard operating procedures for IT support and maintenance.

R&D support and collaboration

• Assist research and development teams with development environment setup and related technical troubleshooting.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external service providers to maintain smooth IT operations.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Practical, hands-on experience in desktop support and server administration.
• Networking knowledge comparable to NP/CCNP level, with familiarity in VLANs, routing, switching, and basic firewall operations.
• Strong command of Windows and Linux operating systems, along with exposure to common virtualization technologies.
• Experience supporting cluster environments will be considered an advantage.
• Good communication skills, a service-focused attitude, and the ability to resolve issues independently.
