Role Overview

Your role will involve identifying, analyzing, and reacting to insider threats, suspicious data movements, and identity-related irregularities. You will safeguard sensitive data, intellectual property, and vital assets by supporting alert triage, investigation processes, and operational monitoring. Responsibilities include examining identity-based attacks, such as account takeovers and privilege escalations, and assisting DLP efforts aimed at preventing unauthorized data exposure or theft.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and probe indicators of insider threat, unusual behavior, and suspicious identity activities consistent with known misuse scenarios.
- Manage Data Loss Prevention operations by assessing incidents that may signal data leakage, accidental exposures, or inappropriate access to sensitive information, following standard DLP procedures.
- Evaluate user behaviors and risk cues drawn from multiple systems to identify insider threat risks by leveraging analytics and comprehensive data sources.
- Support investigative efforts into suspected insider misuse, recognizing patterns tied to malicious intent or inadvertent risk.
- Respond and collaborate on UEBA and SIEM alerts, confirming, escalating, or closing incidents alongside security team members.
- Help develop, fine-tune, and document alert mechanisms and protocols related to insider risk and DLP.
- Engage cross-functionally to share insights and suggest prevention strategies.
- Maintain thorough records of investigations, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong foundational knowledge in cybersecurity, particularly in data protection, identity security, threat detection, and user behavior analytics.
- Ability to interpret and analyze moderately complex security events, delivering reasoned recommendations.
- Comfort working within defined procedures while offering improvements to processes.
- Excellent communication and documentation capabilities.
- Aptitude for cross-team collaboration on security-related issues.
- Professionalism with keen attention to detail and a willingness to advance expertise in insider risk and DLP fields.
Education & Experience
- A minimum of two years’ experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or related security operations roles.
- Experience with SIEM/UEBA platforms, DLP solutions, or insider threat management is advantageous.
