Overview

Join our team as a full-time House Parent at Fraser House in Prince Albert, SK, where you will play a pivotal role in providing a secure, nurturing environment for youth with diverse and complex needs. This position demands compassion, energy, and dedication to uphold household standards including cleanliness, nutrition, and budgeting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma.
  • Senior matriculation and specialized courses in food handling, cooking, or communication are advantageous.

Experience

  • At least one year of experience preparing meals for large groups in a family or similar setting.
  • Previous involvement with children, youth, or adults experiencing behavioral, cognitive, mental health, or developmental challenges is preferred.

Key Competencies

  • Strong cooking and baking abilities with knowledge of the Canada Food Guide.
  • Ability to design meal plans tailored to special dietary requirements.
  • Budget management skills for food and supplies.
  • Excellent household upkeep and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement monthly nutritious meal schedules including snacks and baked goods.
  • Prepare meals for daily needs and special occasions.
  • Maintain high cleanliness standards in the household.
  • Offer empathetic care and support to individuals with complex challenges.
  • Teach life skills such as self-care, cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
  • Complete agency-compliant reports and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Provide leadership during morning routines and support team goals.
  • Model appropriate behavior aligned with agency values and fairness.
  • Manage budgeting and purchasing for food and household supplies, ensuring accuracy in expense reconciliation and documentation.
  • Maintain vehicle logs as required.
  • Follow stringent safety protocols and regulations.

Additional Information

  • Possession of a Class 5 Novice 2 or higher driver’s license, complying with commercial insurance policies.
  • Must complete all mandatory agency training.

Compensation and Benefits
