Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a confident and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Rapid Response team, delivering urgent and practical care to individuals within their own homes. This role requires adaptability and dedication to ensuring service users receive immediate support, enabling them to remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their community setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide staff shadowing to ensure adherence to Health & Safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to emergency care needs, including new care packages and patient discharges.
- Assess and monitor the quality of care delivered, reporting any concerns to the area manager.
- Collect and review client journal notes from residences.
- Distribute care plans, log sheets, gloves, and PPE to clients’ homes as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum one year of homecare experience in Ireland.
- Possession of a QQI Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care.
- Valid driving license and access to a car due to client travel requirements.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, handling rapidly changing scenarios.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple client visits and documentation.
- Demonstrated compassion and empathy essential for quality homecare.
- Willingness to work on a rota basis including weekends.

Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary of €35,247 for candidates with full QQI Level 5 certification.
- Sign-on bonus of €200 awarded after three months of employment.
- Reimbursement for mileage incurred during work responsibilities.
- Fortnightly payment schedule ensuring timely remuneration.
- Shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
