Role Overview
We seek a Head of AI Infrastructure Security to define and oversee the security strategy encompassing our AI platform, GPU clusters, cloud environments, and customer services. This position will manage the comprehensive security stance of our AI infrastructure, guaranteeing the platform’s security, resilience, and compliance while fostering rapid innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and own the security framework for Nava’s AI infrastructure, including GPU clusters, cloud platforms, and control systems.
- Develop security standards, policies, and governance applicable across infrastructure, applications, and engineering divisions.
- Create security controls that support secure multi-tenant AI infrastructure without sacrificing scalability or performance.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering and Product teams to integrate security into platform design and the software development lifecycle.
- Secure compute resources such as GPU clusters, networking, storage, Kubernetes, and management systems.
- Lead initiatives to harden firmware, operating systems, virtualization platforms, containers, APIs, and infrastructure services.
- Ensure tenant isolation with rigorous identity, access management, and privilege control mechanisms.
- Promote secure infrastructure provisioning utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code and automating security policies.
- Develop and direct security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response capabilities.
- Implement vulnerability management, threat intelligence gathering, penetration testing, and ongoing security assessments.
- Manage security incident responses, conduct forensic analysis, and perform root cause examinations.
- Continuously enhance security operations via automation, threat hunting, and proactive risk reduction.
- Maintain compliance with global infrastructure security standards and customer requirements.
- Support security audits, certifications, and due diligence processes alongside internal teams.
- Establish operational security policies, risk management systems, and controls aligned with industry best practices.
- Champion security education and best practices throughout the organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Platform Engineering, GPU Cluster Engineering, Networking, SRE, Legal, Compliance, and Customer Success.
- Serve as executive security advisor for infrastructure, client deployments, and strategic company initiatives.
- Balance security imperatives with operational efficiency and business goals.
- Build and lead a high-performing Infrastructure Security team.
- Mentor security professionals and technical leaders.
- Foster a culture prioritizing security through education, automation, and incremental improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Over 12 years of experience in Infrastructure Security, Cloud Security, Cybersecurity, or Platform Security roles.
- Demonstrated leadership of security functions within large-scale cloud, infrastructure, or distributed system environments.
- Expertise in cloud and infrastructure security, Kubernetes and container security, Linux systems security, network segmentation, identity and access management, Zero Trust architecture, Security Operations Centers (SOC), SIEM, threat detection, infrastructure hardening, and vulnerability management.
- Proven ability to design secure multi-tenant platforms and safeguard customer workloads.
- Strong knowledge of secure software development life cycles and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership qualities, stakeholder engagement abilities, and communication skills.
- Bonus qualifications include familiarity with securing AI infrastructure, GPU clusters, HPC systems, NVIDIA GPU ecosystem technologies, Kubernetes, RDMA/InfiniBand networking, confidential computing, and hardware security.
- Experience with compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications like CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or GIAC are a plus.
