Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform various small to medium home and commercial repairs and maintenance projects, typically lasting from two hours up to two days
• Effectively communicate with customers to clarify needs, advise on necessary work, and set realistic expectations regarding scope and costs
• Maintain excellent customer service to foster long-lasting relationships and encourage repeat business, following the established "Mr. Handyman Way" process
• Work independently and manage work schedule efficiently due to frequent solo assignments
• Engage with customers to deliver outstanding service, encourage reviews, and handle payment collection professionally
• Possess and maintain necessary tools; demonstrate proficiency in using relevant technology to document jobs accurately as per company procedures
• Adhere to safety standards by wearing proper personal protective equipment and use booties to protect customer property

Candidate Requirements

• Residency within the local area is mandatory
• A minimum of 8 years of paid handyman experience
• Ownership of personal tools required for job tasks
• Eligibility for insurability to operate the company's vehicle
• Successful completion of background and motor vehicle record checks
• Ability to independently lift weights up to 50 pounds
• Capability to safely work at heights and perform overhead tasks for extended durations
• Maintain professional appearance and upkeep of company vehicle

Technical Skills

• Proficient in at least three of these areas: carpentry, bathroom remodeling, kitchen improvements, interior and exterior painting, drywall repair (minor and major), general plumbing and electrical work (compliant with legal allowances), floor installation and refinishing, and knowledge of building codes

Additional Information

Applicants will be hired by an independent franchise owner of Mr. Handyman and not by the parent corporation or affiliates. Employment terms, wages, and benefits will be managed solely by the franchise owner. The role demands a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality.
