Graduate Quality Engineer Programme Overview
This structured 24-month graduate programme aims to develop foundational skills in quality engineering, system adherence, and cross-functional project support within Zimmer Biomet. The role is located primarily in Shannon for 18 months, followed by a 6-month rotation at the Galway site to gain diverse operational experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in quality engineering and systems activities to ensure products and processes meet required standards.
- Help develop, review, and maintain procedural documents, specifications, forms, and quality records per site requirements.
- Participate in investigations related to non-conformance, quality issues, complaints, and process deviations, supporting prompt resolution.
- Support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), including problem identification, root cause analysis, tracking, effectiveness review, and closure.
- Contribute to risk management efforts for internal and external matters, including risk assessments and documentation updates.
- Assist in validation, inspection planning, data gathering, and trend analysis to monitor product and process quality.
- Compile and analyze quality data to aid decision-making, continuous improvements, and project reporting.
- Help prepare for audits and participate under supervision in internal audit activities as skills develop.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain on quality projects and improvement initiatives.
- Complete the rotation between Shannon and Galway sites, applying insights to both environments.
- Maintain training compliance and follow the structured development plan of the graduate programme.
- Perform additional quality-related duties consistent with the role’s level and training objectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Recent graduate or expected graduate with a degree in Quality, Engineering, Science, or related disciplines.
- Previous experience such as internships, placements, projects within manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or regulated sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong enthusiasm to build a career in quality engineering within a regulated industry.
