Graduate Pest Control Technician

Role overview

We are looking for a Graduate Pest Control Technician to join the Athlone branch and support customers across the Athlone area. This is a permanent, full-time position with full training provided, so prior experience is not required. The role is well suited to people who enjoy solving problems, working with customers, and building a career in a company that invests in development.

Pay and working pattern

The base salary is €30,300 per year, paid monthly. Once fully trained, the salary increases. The expected overall earnings are around €35,000 per year, with bonus and commission opportunities available. This is a Monday to Friday role, based on a 39-hour work week. There may be scope for the working week to expand to up to 48 hours in the future, with pay adjusted accordingly.

What the role involves

You will begin in a hands-on pest control technician position, spending your first 6 to 12 months covering a defined area while completing industry-recognised training. Over time, the role combines customer service, problem solving, and practical field work to help customers deal with pest issues effectively.

Career development

After the initial period, typically over the following 12 to 36 months, you can move toward one of several career directions, including Sales Surveyor, Field Biologist, Service Team Leader, or Key Account Manager. Responsibilities

• Inspect customer properties to look for pest activity and identify conditions that could create risk.
• Carry out treatment work and remove signs of pest presence in a prompt and effective manner.
• Advise customers on hygiene and maintenance practices that help prevent future pest problems.
• Prepare accurate records and reports after each service visit.
• Maintain a professional appearance and deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.

Requirements

• A minimum 2.2 degree in a science-related subject, including Social Science, or a BA in Business Management, Hospitality, or Tourism.
• A full Irish driving licence.
• A willingness to work hard, interact positively with customers every day, and bring a friendly approach to the role.
• Flexibility to adjust working patterns when business needs require it.
• Possible Garda Vetting clearance, depending on the specific role.

Eligibility

This role is open to graduates, especially those with backgrounds in science, social science, business management, hospitality, or tourism. Candidates should be willing to work on site in Athlone and be able to travel within the local area as part of the job.

Pay is a base annual salary of €30,300, paid monthly, with the potential to earn more through training progression, bonuses, commission, overtime, and related incentive schemes.
