Job description

Position Overview

Join a cooperative and growth-oriented team by applying for the Gas Fitter role based in Wicklow. This position involves working on projects throughout County Wicklow, focused primarily on gas network maintenance and customer-related activities under the GNI maintenance contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair gas infrastructure in both residential and commercial buildings.
  • Ensure all gas installations adhere strictly to Irish gas safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to gas leak reports and collaborate with emergency services as necessary.
  • Restore gas supply following maintenance or emergency interventions.
  • Utilize mobile technology to receive and manage work orders efficiently.

Candidate Requirements

  • Valid clean driving license is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in the gas industry.
  • Current DGS/DGA certification is required.
  • Possession of a national craft certificate in plumbing, pipe fitting, mechanical, or electrical fields.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Capable of cooperating effectively with emergency services during incidents.
  • Strong time management skills to meet work deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • High integrity with respect for confidentiality and privacy.

Additional Details

The role includes emergency first response duties based on a set rota. The remuneration package includes an hourly rate of €26.90 plus an attractive standby allowance.
