Overview
Join G4S in Cheltenham as a Furniture Technician / Handyman, a full-time permanent role offering a rewarding, practical position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. This vital role supports the Accommodation and Infrastructure Service Team by maintaining and assembling furniture and fixtures, ensuring a safe and functional workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and upkeep of furniture throughout the site.
- Assembly, installation, and dismantling of furniture and office fittings such as whiteboards, noticeboards, and shelving.
- Assistance with furniture delivery and relocation tasks.
- Administration of building lockers and management of secure cupboard keys.
- Executing assigned planned, corrective, and reactive maintenance duties on site.
- Safely escort contractors and visitors when necessary.
- Adherence to health and safety protocols, promptly reporting any hazards or near misses.
- Maintain professional communication with client representatives daily.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends to meet project deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
- Practical skills in handiwork or DIY, or experience from a semi-skilled trade.
- Customer-oriented attitude with effective verbal communication skills.
- Dependability, conscientiousness, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- Highly organized with resourcefulness to solve problems efficiently under pressure.
Compensation and Working Conditions
The position offers a salary of £28,646 per year and demands a standard workweek of 40 hours, Monday to Friday, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It is a permanent role based onsite in Cheltenham.
