About Wings Wildlife Park
Wings Wildlife Park, a family-run attraction in Tasmania for nearly four decades, offers award-winning wildlife experiences alongside campground facilities, accommodation, and a country-style café. Operating daily including most public holidays, except Christmas and Anzac Day, the park provides visitors an inviting natural environment to unwind and engage with unique Tasmanian wildlife.
Role Overview
This position centers on delivering outstanding guest services through reception duties, managing admissions, retail sales, and front-of-house operations. Occasionally, the role extends to providing support in the café during peak times. It suits candidates who enjoy dynamic interactions and excel in a vibrant tourism setting, focused on creating memorable visitor experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests, ensuring high-quality customer service.
- Handle ticket sales, admissions, accommodation, camping bookings, and related inquiries.
- Inform guests about the park’s wildlife, tours, animal encounters, and accommodation options.
- Actively promote and upsell park experiences, merchandise, and café offerings.
- Efficiently respond to phone and email enquiries with professionalism.
- Operate POS and EFTPOS machines, processing cash transactions accurately.
- Manage administrative tasks including filing and maintaining correspondence.
- Keep the reception and retail spaces clean, organized, and presentable.
- Support opening and closing duties, including till reconciliation.
- Assist in special event coordination, group bookings, and birthday parties.
- Maintain gift shop presentation, stock levels, and merchandising.
- Guide and train new team members as needed.
- Prepare and serve basic hot and cold drinks in the café, particularly during busy periods.
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming café environment during service hours.

- Friendly, approachable, professional, and well-groomed presentation.
- Highly organized, proactive, and customer-oriented approach.
- Confident in promoting all park facilities and packages.
- Ability to create a welcoming atmosphere and make guests feel valued from arrival.
- Knowledgeable about the local area to highlight park and accommodation highlights.
- Capable of working independently and collaborating effectively within a team.
- Maintains composure and positivity in a fast-moving environment.
- Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, customer service, administration, or reception is highly valued.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum two years in roles related to customer service, hospitality, administration, or front-of-house operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, suited for guest and colleague interaction.
- Strong multitasking and time management to prioritize varied responsibilities efficiently.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and managing emails and basic spreadsheets.
- Great attention to detail, particularly regarding guest care and presentation standards.
- Ability to professionally handle guest enquiries and resolve complaints calmly.
- Basic numeracy and cash handling capabilities with good spelling and grammar.
- High standards of personal presentation and professionalism.
- Flexible availability to work weekdays, weekends, and most public holidays during 9:30am to 4:30pm shifts, without split or late-night shifts.
