Role Overview

This full-time remote position as a Freight Broker involves sourcing and securing freight contracts with shippers and carriers to facilitate efficient and economical transportation. Daily duties include maintaining strong partnerships with carriers and clients, overseeing shipments from collection through to delivery, and resolving any service-related challenges. Collaboration with dispatch and operations teams to monitor load status and keeping customers informed is essential. Identifying new sales opportunities, accurately updating transportation management systems, and working with the broader team to enhance service quality are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Proficient in freight brokerage activities including matching shipping clients with carriers and negotiating transportation rates.
• Skilled in customer service and account management to build enduring client relationships and effectively manage their expectations.
• Experienced in dispatch functions to coordinate schedules, pickups, deliveries, and handle exceptions efficiently.
• Knowledgeable of logistics, supply chain operations, various transport modes, and pertinent industry regulations.
• Competent using transportation management software and common office tools such as CRM systems, spreadsheets, and communication platforms.
• Strong interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation, problem-solving, detail orientation, and prioritization.
• Capable of working autonomously in a remote setting, managing multiple tasks, and achieving performance goals.
• Prior experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or related fields is advantageous; formal logistics training or certification is beneficial.
