Role Overview
The Flight Dispatcher will support flight operations by overseeing daily flight control activities, maintaining regulatory compliance, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to keep the schedule running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee safety and security standards in flight operations while ensuring adherence to NCAA rules and requirements.
- Direct and monitor all flights, operational control duties, and related shift activities.
- Coordinate updates to the daily flight programme with the relevant teams.
- Arrange and confirm all required diplomatic and overflight permissions for the commercial schedule.
- Track the progress of the day’s flying schedule.
- Review network performance and take part in delay reviews and analysis.
- Identify possible disruptions early and recommend actions to reduce delays.
- Work closely with Maintenance Control on aircraft defects and maintenance scheduling.
- Coordinate with organisations that provide services to the airline or influence operational performance.
- Check that aerodrome and ground-handling facilities are serviceable and available.
- During customer or service disruptions on shift, gather and log aerodrome-related information needed for a complete incident review.
- Collect and share the latest TAF and METAR weather reports with flight crew.
Requirements
- A BSc or HND in Geography or a related discipline.
- A valid NCAA Flight Dispatch License.
- Experience using computer-based operations tools such as Jeppesen Jet Planner will be an advantage.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with technology.
- Good time management, planning, and organisational ability.
- Ability to make quick, practical decisions under pressure.
- Good analytical ability and a sharp eye for detail.
- Crew rostering or control experience is considered beneficial.
