Finance Data Analyst

Overview

The Finance Data Analyst plays a crucial role in fostering data-driven decision-making and driving Finance's digital evolution by leveraging analytics, automation, and modern digital technologies. This position collaborates closely with Finance, Technology, and business units to create scalable reporting and analytical frameworks, automate processes, enhance data integrity, and provide actionable insights that boost operational efficiency and overall financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain processes for data extraction, transformation, and validation to enable scalable reporting, analytics, and automation.
• Develop SQL queries, reusable datasets, and data models supporting reporting and business intelligence initiatives.
• Convert enterprise data into insightful information to inform both strategic and operational decisions.
• Design, build, and manage interactive dashboards, visualizations, and self-service reports using leading enterprise BI platforms.
• Utilize descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics to uncover trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Spot opportunities to streamline and automate Finance workflows through digital technologies and AI solutions.
• Design, deploy, and maintain automation workflows that enhance productivity, reinforce controls, and reduce manual tasks.
• Develop reusable scripts and digital tools to optimize Finance operations and reporting.
• Explore emerging technologies including AI to elevate Finance analytics, forecasting, and decision-making while ensuring governance and compliance.
• Continuously monitor and improve automation solutions for reliability and scalability.
• Contribute to Finance transformation projects involving ERP systems, enterprise data platforms, automation, and process redesign.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement technology-driven improvements in Finance processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Finance analytics, BI, data analytics, Finance transformation, automation, or digital transformation.
• Preferred familiarity with Finance, ERP, or enterprise system environments.
• Experience designing and implementing automation or digital initiatives is beneficial.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in SQL for data querying, extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Data modeling and preparation capabilities.
• Expertise with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or IBM Cognos Analytics.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and enterprise data warehouses like Snowflake.
• Knowledge of workflow and low-code automation platforms.
• Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath.
• Programming or scripting skills, particularly Python.
• Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI applications.
• Understanding of API integration and system connectivity principles.
