Job Overview
The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring the seamless and efficient functioning of the site portfolio by providing high-quality, cost-effective facility management services that align with business goals and enhance asset longevity. This role involves end-to-end ownership of FM categories, including maintenance, supplier relations, energy management, and cross-department coordination to guarantee safety, compliance, and reliability across all locations.
Key Duties
- Manage the full spectrum of facility management services such as energy and utilities, cleaning, waste and pest control, technical installations, general building upkeep, and shopfitting maintenance.
- Serve as the FM Category Manager responsible for strategy development, standard setting, supplier oversight, performance monitoring, and optimization of costs and quality in alignment with the global FM vision.
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies based on store segmentations to improve customer and employee experiences.
- Lead or collaborate in sourcing and procurement activities for facility service providers, providing expert advice to procurement teams.
- Ensure contractual adherence and superior service delivery from all facility vendors and property owners.
- Stay informed about market innovations and technologies that can benefit the company’s facility management needs.
- Assess the condition of assets, determine investment requirements, and plan to extend asset life and enhance lifecycle performance.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and commercial installations for optimal customer satisfaction.
- Develop and uphold facility maintenance plans incorporating both scheduled and reactive tasks to comply with all standards.
- Maintain precise, updated asset and work data in the global FM system (e.g., Planon) and manage lifecycle capital and operational expenditure planning and project documentation.
- Monitor energy consumption at sites, drive initiatives to reduce usage and costs in line with global energy objectives.
- Align facility activities with business requirements and proactively propose improvements to meet evolving needs.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Facility or Project Management certifications are advantageous.
- Mechanical or technical engineering background preferred for Hard FM category roles, especially where HVAC is involved.
- Business administration background and experience in Soft FM supplier management is beneficial for Soft FM category roles.
- Strong skills in supplier and FM category management.
- Practical experience with Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems such as Planon.
- A minimum of 3 years working in facility management, construction, or real estate sectors.
- Well-versed in contract and supplier management, budget planning, and operational activity-based forecasting.
- Experience with energy management is a plus.
- Exposure to retail industry and international corporate environments is favourable.
