Position Summary

The Group Engineering Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead, reporting to Group Engineering and based in Dubai, is integral to ensuring that power and hybrid system designs are feasible, safe, maintainable, and capable of delivering expected operational and business outcomes in real-world site scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive reviews and provide assurance on Product Development & Design power and hybrid system blueprints to confirm practical application, safety, ease of maintenance, and operational efficiency.
• Validate implemented designs by ensuring they meet specified standards and anticipated performance metrics.
• Assist in proof-of-concept and pilot phases by evaluating new technologies, setups, and equipment under actual site conditions.
• Develop and underpin business cases advocating site enhancements, technology upgrades, and design optimizations aimed at boosting efficiency and maximizing investment returns.
• Analyze asset lifecycle performance and failure data to pinpoint opportunities for cost reduction, warranty reclamation, extension of asset life, and enhancement of total ownership costs.
• Serve as the liaison bridging design and operational teams by offering systematic feedback to refine standards, designs, and engineering governance.
• Identify and verify strategies for fuel consumption reduction and energy savings that support decreased diesel generator usage, as well as progress toward zero diesel generator operation and net-zero power initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive background in power systems engineering within telecommunications, energy sectors, or related infrastructure fields.
• Demonstrated expertise in design assurance, engineering validation, or technical governance with responsibility for ensuring field performance delivers as intended.
• Practical experience executing pilots, trials, or deploying power and hybrid energy solutions on a large scale.
• Sound knowledge of telecom site power infrastructures, including generators, battery systems, rectifiers, control mechanisms, and renewable energy installations.
• Proficient in applying commercial and financial insights to engineering choices, including lifecycle cost evaluations and investment return assessments.
