Job Overview
The Duty Manager at the Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC) at GNIAL is responsible for ensuring the effective allocation and management of airport resources to facilitate smooth operations and high On Time Performance (OTP) of flights. This role requires managing emergency responses, coordinating timely dissemination of crucial operational information, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards during shift duties at the airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize utilization of airport assets such as parking stands, boarding gates, check-in counters, and baggage reclaim areas based on the needs during the manager's shift.
- Promptly notify and manage any airport emergencies in accordance with the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), Bomb Threat Contingency Plan (BTCP), Fire Strategy Plan, and Aircraft Hijack Plan.
- Communicate adverse weather conditions and warnings, including Low Visibility Procedures and thunderstorms, to all concerned parties like Airlines, Ground Handlers, and Non-scheduled Operators.
- Engage and coordinate with external stakeholders such as airlines, ground handlers, CISF, and ATC for operational requirements.
- Lead and supervise a team of at least seven staff members working in shifts.
- Maintain regular communication and coordination with internal departments, including supervisors and peers.
Performance Metrics
- Number of complaints received related to airport resources and operations.
- Flight On Time Performance rates.
- Number of complaints or observations relating to emergency handling and regulatory compliance.
- Instances of non-compliance with operational protocols.
- Timeliness and clarity of information dissemination concerning operational delays and weather-related warnings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate or postgraduate degree from a recognized and reputed university.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with various operational software relevant to airport management.
- At least 12 years of experience in aviation operations.
