Role Overview
Northpower is seeking a Distribution Line Mechanic to join our team in Whangarei. This is a permanent, full-time position with a working schedule from Monday to Friday, comprising 40 hours weekly plus involvement in an on-call/standby roster that may demand after-hours and weekend duties. The guaranteed minimum weekly hours are 30.
Key Responsibilities
- Constructing, servicing, and maintaining overhead electrical lines up to 33kV in conformance with customer and network standards.
- Installing and replacing pole structures and electrical conductors effectively and safely.
- Operating specialized equipment and ensuring accurate completion of field documentation.
- Contributing to team goals with problem-solving skills and cooperative effort.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and quality in all tasks performed.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in a similar position is preferred.
- Must hold EWRB Registration specific to Distribution Line Mechanics.
- Current Class 1 Driver's Licence is mandatory; possession of Class 2 Licence is advantageous.
- Experience working on overhead lines is desirable.
- A positive mindset, strong dedication to safety, and a committed work ethic.
- Physical fitness to engage in demanding hands-on tasks.
