Role Overview

As a Distribution Analyst, you will be instrumental in managing product flow across the business. Your key focus will be to ensure inventory allocation aligns with sales objectives by collaborating with teams in Planning, Merchandising, and Supply Chain. Bringing a solid analytical approach and enthusiasm for problem-solving, you will transform data insights into operational decisions that enhance outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement allocation plans that meet sales and inventory targets across stores and various channels
• Evaluate sales trends and inventory metrics to spot potential risks and opportunities
• Work closely with Planning and Merchandising departments to forecast demand and streamline inventory movement across the season
• Track incoming and outgoing shipments to confirm timely and precise deliveries
• Manage initial inventory releases, transfers, and adjustments at the store level
• Create and upkeep allocation reports and dashboards to provide business insights
• Assist in monitoring backlogs and markdowns to optimize stock levels and product performance
• Partner with different teams to enhance allocation processes and efficiency

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
• Between 0 and 2 years of relevant experience, including internships or retail store work preferable
• Exceptional organizational skills with ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
• A collaborative, service-oriented mindset with resourcefulness
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis

Preferred:

• Experience in retail, allocation, or supply chain domains
• Familiarity with allocation or planning software such as SAP, JDA, or comparable systems
• Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, or data visualization tools
• Commitment to in-office work model, based in New York office Tuesday through Thursday starting September 8, 2026

Additional Information

The hourly salary for this position ranges from $22.98 to $26.49. Madewell offers a competitive total rewards package that includes base salary, potential bonuses, and extensive benefits.
