Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Sous Chef or Manager of Food & Beverage, the Dishwasher is tasked with ensuring the kitchen, culinary tools, and utensils are impeccably clean. This role requires strict adherence to company hygiene and safety protocols, fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere for team members. Upholding company policies and leading by example are critical in supporting Great Canadian's learning environment.
Main Duties
- Efficiently organize, rinse, spray, and load dishwashers; hand wash when needed.
- Inspect cleaned items for thoroughness and perform re-washing if necessary.
- Report dishwasher malfunctions, breakages, or any irregularities promptly to management.
- Appropriately store all cleaned kitchenware.
- Manage garbage and recycling disposal effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness across kitchen spaces including floors, counters, and work areas; occasionally clean other common facility areas.
- Assist with receiving goods and proper stocking.
- Prepare designated food items as requested.
- Communicate and collaborate seamlessly with all relevant operational teams.
- Build strong relationships with guests, owners, and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma.
- At least six months of relevant work experience.
- Valid Food Safety Certification.
- Ability to obtain a Gaming License.
- Strong customer service skills with clear, effective communication.
Work Environment
- Typical kitchen setting requiring long periods of standing and walking.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat and cold, as well as steam and noise.
- Physical demands such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, bending, with some exposure to fumes, smoke, chemicals, and minor risk of cuts or burns.
- Non-standard work shifts may be required.
